Forkastic Privacy Policy
Effective: September 26, 2026 · Covers the Forkastic app and the Forkastic connector
1. Who is responsible
Forkastic is an independently operated app. The developer is the sole operator and is responsible for the data described here. The operator is Cesar Michael Mejia, an individual developer in Idaho, USA. Forkastic runs on infrastructure the developer hosts and administers directly (including a self-hosted database), rather than on a third-party app platform.
2. What we collect in the Forkastic app

3. The Forkastic connector (for AI assistants)
Forkastic offers a connector that AI assistants can use through the Model Context Protocol. The current version has two tools, and neither needs or accesses a Forkastic account:
- Rebuild a recipe from a link. When you give the assistant a TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X or Facebook link, Forkastic's server fetches that public page (and, for YouTube, the public video details) to read its title and description, then uses an AI service to structure the recipe and estimate nutrition. Only links from those sites are accepted. Forkastic does not log in to any social account and does not fetch anything other than the link you supplied.
- Search recipes. Your search words and filters are used to look up recipes in Forkastic's recipe library and public recipe databases, and may be sent to an AI service for suggestions.
What the connector keeps:
- Your IP address is held in the server's memory to enforce rate limits (a limited number of requests per network per hour). It is not written to our database. Our server logs record a one-way scrambled tag of the address (not the address itself), the tool used, and whether it succeeded. Our network provider (Cloudflare) also processes IP addresses to route and protect traffic. Server logs are rotated routinely and kept only as long as needed to run and secure the service.
- Results are cached. A rebuilt recipe (keyed by its link) and search results (keyed by the search words and filters) are stored for up to 7 days so repeat requests are fast and free. The cache holds the link and the recipe — not who asked for it.
- The AI assistant you use to reach the connector has its own privacy policy, which governs what it does with your conversation.
Account-linked connector features (such as saving to your meal plan) are planned. They will only work after you explicitly link your Forkastic account, and this policy will be updated before they launch.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not show advertising or share data with advertising networks or data brokers.
- We do not build advertising or marketing profiles from your health data.
- We do not use your content to train our own AI models.
- We do not access social media accounts you haven't explicitly linked.
5. Services your data passes through

Your account data, recipes, logs and weight history are stored in a database the developer hosts himself, not on a third-party consumer cloud service. Traffic is encrypted in transit.
6. Health data
Weight, nutrition intake, fasting and activity data are used only to produce the calculations and charts you see in the app. This data is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used for any other purpose. The connector's current tools do not read or store any health data.
Forkastic is a general wellness and food-tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Nutrition figures — especially those produced from a reconstructed recipe or an AI estimate — are estimates and can be wrong.
7. Retention and deleting your account
App data is kept while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account yourself from Profile → Settings → Delete Account in the app; deletion is immediate. Connector cache entries expire after 7 days. Copies of deleted data that remain in backups or logs are removed or overwritten within 30 days.
8. Your rights
You can access, correct and export your data in the app, and delete your account at any time. For anything else, including requests under EEA/UK or US state privacy laws, email support@forkastapp.io.
9. Children
Forkastic is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
10. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated and the change posted at forkastapp.io/privacy.
