Forkastic Terms of Service

Effective: September 26, 2026 · Covers the Forkastic app and the Forkastic connector

1. The service

Forkastic rebuilds recipes from video and social-media links, estimates nutrition, and provides recipe search, meal planning, grocery lists, food logging, and calorie/TDEE tracking. The Forkastic connector lets AI assistants use some of these features through the Model Context Protocol. The app is currently an invite-only beta; the connector's public tools need no account.

2. Nutrition estimates — not medical advice

• Calorie, macro and TDEE figures are estimates, calculated from reconstructed or published recipes and from what you log. They are not lab analysis.
• Forkastic is a planning and tracking tool — not a medical device and not medical or dietary advice. Talk to a qualified professional before making significant changes to how you eat, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have a history of disordered eating.
• Recipes rebuilt from short videos are often reconstructed from the dish name and general cooking knowledge, and may contain errors. Diet filters are based on ingredient names. Always check ingredients yourself if you have allergies or intolerances.

3. Accounts

If you have an account, keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity under it. Accounts are currently by invitation only.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: get around or abuse rate limits (for example by rotating addresses), scrape or bulk-download the service, attempt to access other people's data, submit links you know to be malicious, or use Forkastic for anything unlawful. We may block networks or accounts that do.

5. Links and content

When you submit a link, Forkastic fetches that public page to rebuild the recipe. Only submit links you are entitled to view. You keep ownership of what you submit (links, logs, entries) and grant Forkastic the permission needed to operate the service on it (process, store, and show it back to you). Recipes as lists of ingredients and steps are generally not protected by copyright in the US, but videos, photos and written descriptions usually are — Forkastic links back to the original post and does not copy the video.

6. Third-party services

The AI assistant you use to reach the connector, the social platforms you link to, and the recipe databases Forkastic searches are run by others, and their terms apply to their services.

7. Limits, availability and changes

The connector's public tools are rate-limited and have a daily ceiling; when a limit is reached, requests are refused until it resets. Forkastic is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Features may change or be removed.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of US$50 or the amount you paid to use Forkastic in the prior 12 months.

9. Termination

You may stop using Forkastic at any time and delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend access that violates these terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, USA, and any dispute will be heard in the courts of Idaho. Forkastic is operated by Cesar Michael Mejia, an individual developer.

11. Changes to these terms

We will post updates at forkastapp.io/terms with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
